Acting & communication academy enrolment terms & conditions

This Privacy Policy explains how we, Lewis Borg Enterprises Pty Ltd (ABN: 83 169 183 288) & our subsidiary businesses including: Acting and Communication Academy; Voice Consultants and Advocates (“US”), will collect, use and otherwise handle any personal information that we collect from you when you use our websites and services including Eventbrite, signing up to our email newsletter and enrolling through our portal at: www.actingandcommunication.comwww.voiceadvocates.com AND www.kaytelewis.com; which are together referred to as the “Website”.

1. Tuition

1.1. Tuition is given by the full term only, and enrolment is for the calendar year.

1.2. There are four terms per year.

1.3. Fees are per term, not per lesson.

1.4. On average you can expect there to be 8 lessons per term or the equivalent.

2. Payment

2.1. All fees are payable in advance prior to commencement of lessons each term.

2.2. If fees are not paid in full, the Acting & Communication Academy holds the right to refuse tuition.

2.3. A 5% late fee will be charged for all overdue accounts per month or part thereof.

2.4. One change of enrolment will be permitted per term per student.  Subsequent changes will attract an Administration Fee of $35 per change.

2.5. Any cost/s incurred to recover payments due as per this agreement will the responsibility of the parent or guardian enrolling the child.

2.6. Half a term’s notice is required for termination of tuition; i.e. notice must be given by the end of Week 4 in the preceding term.  Failure to give notice will incur the full-term fee.

3. Cancellation Policy

3.1. If you wish to end your enrolment and drop the course, notice must be received via direct communication by the end of the 4th week of lessons the preceding term.  For example, to drop from Term 2, notice must be received by the end of Week 4 in Term 1.

3.2. Failure to give notice will incur the following term fee.

3.3. There are no refunds for change of mind once enrolled.

3.4. If you find your course clashes with another activity, we will endeavour to find you another course but cannot guarantee placement and no refunds or credits will be given.

3.5. If you drop a course part way through a term you forfeit the remainder of the term fees.

4. Transfer Policy

4.1. All transfers or changes of class must be made via direct communication with the administration team.

4.2. Transfers are not guaranteed or automatically approved.

4.3. Any additional fee or charges must be paid prior to commencement of the new course.

4.4. There will not be a refund if the new course fee is less than the old course fee.

5. Refund Policy

5.1. Course fees are to be paid in full on the enrolment date and are non-refundable. 

5.2. Refunds cannot be given if you change your mind. 

5.3. If you are unable to attend class a lesson you must provide a minimum of 24 hours-notice, then we will endeavour to provide you with two alternative ‘make up’ times or you may attend a group class lesson.  If these are also not suitable to you then the class lesson will be forfeited.

5.4. Credits or refunds will not be given for missed Masterclasses or Holiday Programs.  If five days-notice is provided a 50% credit may be placed on your account for use toward future tuition.

5.5. If less than 5 days’ notice is given to withdraw from a holiday program or masterclass then no credit is given.

6. Lessons / Competitions / Performances

6.1. Lessons missed by student non-attendance will not be credited; where 24-hour notice is provided the student may, in that same term have a make up class.  A maximum of 2 options will be provided and if these are not suitable then the class will be forfeited.

6.2. Lessons cancelled by the Academy will be made up.  No more than two make up time options will be provided before the class is considered forfeited by the student.

6.3. Make up lessons must be taken within the same school term as they were missed and cannot be carried into the next term.

6.4. Exam and competition entry will be made with student/parent/guardian/tutor’s mutual consent.

6.5. Exam and entry fees are payable by the parent/guardian before the entry can be made.

6.6. If participating in a performance, attendance at ALL rehearsals is required.

6.7. Extra rehearsals may be called, and payment made per rehearsal.

6.8 When confirmation of an additional or stand alone lesson is made, payment must be received by the agreed time. Sufficient notice must be given for class cancellation. Failure to do so will incur the full fee.

7. ACA Staff

7.1. Acting & Communication Academy staff will not be responsible for your child outside of designated class time.

7.2. Prior to a lesson, students will be picked up from – 7.2.1. KNOX: K-2 Prep Building, Billyard Avenue Gate. 7.2.2. Wahroonga Prep School: Lower Hall. 

7.3. ACA staff are not responsible for your child after the completion of the lesson time and it is your responsibility to make arrangement for the collection and transportation of your child to their next activity.

7.4. Any children left at the end of a class may be taken to afterschool care and you will be responsible for any ending fees with that provider.

7.5. The above does not apply to students attending in the CBD and Pymble where you will need to make your arrangements about transport to and from the class and ACA staff will not be responsibility for your child outside of the class time.  If you are late and a staff member has to wait you will be billed at the rate of $10 for every 5 minutes or part there of that you are late in collecting your child.

7.6. The Acting & Communication Academy only employ tutors of a high standard. On enrolling, participants enrol for a course, not a specified tutor – thus we reserve the right to change the tutor at will or convenience.

7.7. Our staff come to work to teach your children, and it is important for all members of our staff to be treated with courtesy and respect.  Aggressive or abusive behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances.  We reserve the right to refuse to continue tuition of a child whose parent/guardian has been reported as acting inappropriately toward a staff member and no refund of fees with be payable.

8. Communication

8.1. All communication must be within normal business hours.

8.2. All communication must be via email to perform@actingandcommunication.sydney or tutor@actingandcommunication.sydney whichever is most appropriate. Staff will endeavour to provide you with a response within 2 business days.

8.3. To facilitate communication, parents/guardians are required to read the newsletter and to stay subscribed whilst enrolled at the Acting & Communication Academy.

9. Photography

9.1. I understand that the Acting & Communication Academy may use my child’s photograph for its own promotional purposes, unless explicitly notified in writing.

10. Medical Conditions

10.1 Users are responsible for disclosing ALL relevant medical conditions accurately to Acting and Communication prior to engaging in any services provided by the company. This includes but is not limited to allergies, chronic illnesses, disabilities, and any other health-related information that may impact the provision of services.

10.2 Where necesarry supportive documents and care/management plans must be provided.

10.3 Users acknowledge that it is their responsibility to ensure that all disclosed medical conditions are up-to-date and accurately represent their current health status. Failure to provide complete and accurate information may result in inadequate service provision and potential risks to the user’s health.

10.4 Acting and Communication shall not be held liable for any failure on the part of the user to disclose relevant medical conditions. Users understand and accept that Acting and Communication relies on the information provided by them and cannot be held responsible for any adverse outcomes resulting from undisclosed or misrepresented medical conditions.

11. Modification of Terms

11.1 Acting and Communication hold the rights to modify terms and conditions without prior notice. Users are responsible for regularly reviewing these terms to stay informed of any changes.
